Second Elephant ATC

Well here he is again my Elephant. This summer I was actually in two Elephant ATC swaps. This is the ATC from the second swap done through the Artist Trading Card Yahoo Web Group. It was an international swap which was a lot of fun to be involved in. I will post all those ATC's as well.
For this ATC I used the Elephant Stamp as it currently exists in its working stage and the Scroll Inchie Stamp in the upper left corner. I learned this summer how to make umbrella's and tried it for this swap. I wasn't to thrilled with my first try though.

Inchie created by Nina Perrin from Purple Faerie Inchie Swap using the Adante Inchie Stamp by Purple Faerie.
Product used: Cork Paper, SEI Madeira Ribbon, Ribbon Letter Stickers, Chalk Cat's Eye Ink,
The Stamp is a sneak-sneak Peek of something I've been working on for quite some time. It's not totally done yet but I hope to hash out the manufacturing issues soon and get it out as a complete set in the near future. For 2 points toward the BLOG CANDY...leave a comment on what you think and what else you'd like to see in a set like this.

Purple Faerie Themed ATC Swap Results

It really isn't that we've had a lot of swaps lately just that I'm finally getting around to posting the results of them all. I know how nice it is to see a lot of different artwork to assist in the inspiration of additional artwork. This swap was hosted by Mindy Rapp on the Web-Group and was a themed ATC swap. The themes were Elephants, Coffee, an Open Theme and Fashion.

Top left to right down - Created by (theme):Betsy Hawkins (open theme using sparkle paper), Deborah Cariker (Coffee theme), Mindy Rapp (Elephant), Mindy Rapp (Coffee), Mindy Rapp (Coffee), Stephanie Povey (Open), Mindy Rapp (Fashion), Bela White (Open), Bela White (Open)

Ok so you've seen my Coffee submission to this swap...but I was also in the Elephant theme...now I had sooooo much fun with this one. What is so cool is that I got to use an inchie on these ATC's from a previous PF Inchie Swap...soooo cool. My hopes are to then use the ATC on a card. We will see if I ever get to it though. I will post it in a few with additional info on this ATC.

ATC RAK Received

I received this ATC last week as an RAK and I have to say that although the content didn't really strike me a few things about this RAK did. 1. It was done on a piece of Framers Matt board and that seemed so suited to the topic. Title is Office Series. 2. It was created by a MAN...yah so check this out...Is my surprise so shocking??? I don't know much about men in the art world but I was shocked because I don't see a lot of men in the paper crafting world. Refreshing! But the double wammy is that....well you just have to go to his website.

Qty: make 6/5 received back
Not a morning person? Can't even talk to you 'til you've had a cup of coffee? Does the local coffee bar know you by name and hand over your 'usual' without your having to place an order? Are you on automatic ship from both Gevalia and Starbucks, and you still run out before the end of the month? It's because you drink coffee well into the night as you are making ATC's, right? Then you might as well make an ATC about it!
All media (original and digital okay; no photocopies) and interpretations of the theme welcome. Tasteful nudity allowed; please remember that these will most likely be shown at the receiver's local coffee bar.
Please include a mailing label and 1.50 postage.
International players may send an extra ATC (any subject) and/or ephemera instead of postage. Your mailing container may be recycled to you, or I may find something else if it doesn't work out.

Email Stephanie at k9dancer@hotmail.com to sign up.

International players should allow 3 weeks for your cards to arrive. Players, please email me when you mail your cards. I will confirm receipt when I get them.
I'm playing and have a special surprise in reference to this swap!

Purple Faerie ATC Theme Swap: Vintage Round

Linda's ATC's texture background is actually textured...this is something you can not see just by looking at this scan of it.

Connie used a lot of distressing. Including scissor distressing, ink distressing and white wash distressing.

Wendy used textured paper then distressed it with ink and then also used clear embossing to even further texture it.

Incredible demonstrations of texture and distressing to give dimension.

Mindy used some incredible glitter on this ATC which is hard to see on this scan. Glitter is used on the little girls dress, shoes and hair.

Allie I've got to know where you found that brad. It is a very shimmery antiqued copper brad that very similar to a worn penny. What brand is it?

Betsy used an actual photo of her Dad on this ATC. Dated 1918 age 2 I love the use of photo's on this ATC. Reminding us that these little mini works of art can also be re-used on scrapbook pages or as inserts to scrapbooks or for mini scrapbooks or a binder of Scrapbook ATC's...really I guess the options are endless. Thanks Betsy for reminding me of this option.

I created my Vintage ATC on Chipboard and used some punchinella and dimensional paint on my ATC. I used the Circa 1917 stamp that I just released this month as well as a vintage button.

Deborah also used vintage buttons on her ATC's and something you can't tell by looking at this scan is that the vintage photo images are actually embossed.

Stephanie did a lot of intricate layering on her ATC. She used vintage images she cut out and some she colored some look like they were stamped, but on all she layered and paper pieced.
