Button Faeries

I wanted to share this multi media project. This was a first for me but it was a lot of fun and surprisingly easy to do.

Here is a link for a step to step tutorial: Cut Out and Keep

I used the Purple Faerie Faerie B stamp and merely cut off her wings and legs for this project. I used the DCWV Glitter Paper Flowers for her wings and a bag of Pastel, The Paper Studio mixed buttons, Close to My Hearts wire and of course my favorite Liquid Glass.
Hope you enjoy this little project. It was super easy and fun!!!

From Sketch to Card

I think it is interesting to see how different people will interpret the same sketch. Then add different product or even just different embellishments.

This sketch is from PageMaps - I love PageMap sketches but have yet to use one the size they indicate for the sketch. All this takes is a bit of measuring and some patients in figuring out what size will work for each element. I usually sketch it out myself with my dimensions and work from my re-worked sketch.

More Cards Back From Swaps

The next few cards I received back from the Stampers Corner Great in Green Card Swap and the Bella Card Swap. Thought I'd share them with you all for a little inspiration!

Created by Nina Perrin
Stamps by Purple Faerie Paper Crafts
Technique: Metal Alcohol Roll

Created by Nina Perrin
Stamps by Stamping Bella & Purple Faerie Paper Crafts

Created by Judy Miller

This card sports 6 layers of cardstock it is beautiful. The center flowers were embossed cut out and layered on with brads holding them in place. It is simply beautiful!

Created by Ann Creager
I love Bella and as usual this card is fun. Love the unusual shaped ribbon fastener (aka paper clip) Ann used on this card as well as the bright and bold color choices.

Created by Ann Creager

Again her is Ann demonstrating her unusual yet wonderful color combinations. I just love the bright boldness of this color combination as well as the texture combination. Hard to see in this scan but the green is a linen finish.

Created by Ann Owens
Stamps by The Angel Company (Ann is a rep for them) I believe the swirl paper she created using the chalk marbling technique. I will get confirmation on this from her. The contrast between the yellow and dark green is beautiful.

Created by Cindy Welch
Ok, I've decided I have to have this Bella...and this card sold me on this design. Cindy does an incredible job with texture in the linen finish pink cardstock, the laid finish of the blue cardstock combined with the cuttlebug embossing on the patterned paper. What movement!

Created by Stacy Pullins

I haven't found out where Stacy got these papers from and I'm trying to locate that information but the paper is stunning. Stacy has a wonderful sense of design and balance simple and elegant. Love this card.

St. Pattys Day ATC Swap

I just wanted to share these two ATC's I got back from the Stampers Corner St.Patty's Day ATC Swap I was in. I got many more but these were the only two I got permission to post.

Bling Card Swap: a return on my investment

Stampers Corner Bling Card Swap

I always look at swaps as a return on my initial investment. So when I get every single card back and absolutely love them it is a wonderful return on my investment. These women did an OUTSTANDING job and I can only apologize if my scans don't do them justice.
Created by Ann Creager

Ann used her Cricut to cut out the word Thanks. The quilted paper just pops off the black and the bit o' bling she added to balance it is pop dotted off the surface. Beautifully simple card.
Created by Cindy Welch

Cindy used the monoprinting with alcohol inks technique on her background paper. This technique is done on glossy cardstock and uses embossing powder. Cindy used gold embossing powder and the scan does not do it any justice. She also used a wide gold ribbon to tie it all together. The color markers she used on the flowers make them simply pop. (the flower images were stamped).
Created by Sandy John

Now I have to apologize to Sandy as there is a pink ribbon skewed across part of her card on this scan but for the life of me I can not get another scan out of my scanner. It is determined to give me fits tonight. The colors Sandy used on this card are outstanding. Soft purple like grey, silver embossing powder, purple cardstock and black with a bit of clear rhinestone bling. Sandy used pop dots to raise the image of the dress.
Created by Trudy Pieterick

The stamped images is embossed and then colored in using markers. to give the elements more dimension Trudy used pop dots on the right lantern to raise the image and the mat on this image is crimped. For added depth she stippled the edges of the image cardstock ever so lightly (how did you get it so light Trudy?). The Bling is in the rhinestones on the lanterns which sparkle off the embossed images, which is totally lost in the scan.

Created by Ann Owens
Ann used a retired TAC (The Angel Company) stamp and it totally sets off the beauty of her card. For bling she used some square pink rhinestones. Dainty is the true theme of this card accented by the dainty small pink ribbon used on the fold and the rounded corners. Beautiful!

Created by Elly Moore

Thanks Elly for letting me post your card as well. It is very hard to see with this scan the glitter on the center popped tag. It reads Gypsy Diary. Very pritty card.

Now there is one more card from this swap. My own card which I failed to scan before sending it out
